Dents and creases in working body panels
A dent in a cargo-side panel, a creased door skin and a damaged wheel-opening edge each need a different repair. The shape of the metal, nearby edges and access behind the panel affect whether it can be repaired or needs replacement.
Long van sides make body lines and transitions between panels easy to see. Correcting the shape comes before surface preparation and paint. Refinishing an uneven panel cannot remove the dent beneath it.
Scraped paint and the adjoining finish
A scrape may cross a door, trim and a fixed panel in one pass. The paintwork can extend beyond the most obvious mark because the repaired surface needs preparation and the new color must be matched to the finish already on the vehicle.
Even a white work van needs color matching. Weathering, previous paintwork and manufacturing variation can affect the existing finish. Blending may carry color into an adjacent area to make the transition less visible.
Company lettering and wraps over the damage
A logo, stripe or unit number may cross the repair area. The marking and the paint beneath it are separate parts of the job; a new decal does not correct a damaged panel.
Include affected graphics in the repair inquiry. Their removal and replacement need to be identified alongside the body and paint work, including the provider responsible for the replacement markings.

Can a painted repair be limited to the visible scratch?
The scratch identifies the visible damage, but it does not establish the full preparation or refinishing area. Panel repair, the paint system and the existing finish may require work beyond that mark.
