Sideswipes, rear impacts and damaged corners

A sideswipe can cross a cargo door, a fixed side panel and the trim between them. Backing contact may damage a rear corner, lamp or bumper as well as the door edge above it. The visible dent helps locate the impact; nearby parts can be involved in the same repair.

Panel repair, replacement and refinishing depend on the condition of those parts. A scrape in an open panel and a sharp crease at an edge are different jobs. The inspection establishes how far the damage extends and which work is needed.

Loading doors are part of the collision repair

A rear door that started sticking after an impact belongs in the repair assessment, even if the outer dent looks small. A changed gap, new rub mark or extra closing effort can indicate damage involving the door, its hardware or the surrounding opening.

Shelving, racks and partitions can cover the inside of the damaged area. Added equipment or wiring may also affect access. Describe any change in door operation and the equipment beside the impact when you send the inquiry.
